John Deere has redesigned its 1 Series compact utility tractors for model year 2027 and renamed them. If you have been shopping the 1025R or 2025R, here is what changed, what stayed the same, and how to pick between the new models.
Old Name, New Name
- The 1025R becomes the 1M 25.
- The 2025R becomes the 1R 25.
- The 1023E becomes the entry-level 1E model.
The new numbering is part of Deere's refresh of the whole 1 Series lineup.
What's New on the 1M 25 and 1R 25
- Factory HVAC cab option. You can now order a cab with heat and air conditioning from the factory, which matters for winter snow removal and hot-weather mowing.
- Tilt steering is standard, along with a new digital fuel gauge and a redesigned fender console.
- Loader and implement connections. A factory-installed third function works with the single-point hydraulic connector option, which makes removing the loader easier. A mid-lift ready option supports mower decks.
- LED lighting. LED headlights are standard on both models, and the 1R 25 adds front LED work lights.
- Easier service access. A one-piece hood opens 77 degrees.
- Connected machine. A smart connector is standard and works with John Deere Equipment Mobile for machine data, maintenance alerts and service insights.
Which One Fits Your Work
- Mowing and property upkeep: the mid-lift ready option and standard tilt steering make a long day on a deck more comfortable.
- Loader work: the third function and single-point connector are aimed at people who put the loader on and off often.
- Snow removal: the factory cab is the biggest change if you plow or blow snow all winter.
